Moen 1222 vs Moen 1225

The most common Moen shower mix-up. They look similar out of the wall, but they fit different valves and don't swap.

The quick test: Turn the shower on. If you pull the handle toward you first, you need a 1225. If you only turn it, you need a 1222.

Moen one-handle shower: pull-out handle versus turn-only handle 2. turn 1. pull Pull out, then turn → 1225 (blue 1213 if M-CORE 3 Series) turn only Turn only → 1222 (gray 1212 if M-CORE 2 Series)
