How to recognize it

If the handle pulls toward you before water comes on, it's the 1225 family. If it only turns, it's a Posi-Temp 1222. Simplified drawing, not to scale.

Don't mix it up

Looks like Posi-Temp from the outside (rotate only). A 1222 won't seat in an M-CORE valve.
Not interchangeable with: Moen 1222, Moen 1213

Good to know

Cartridge ships with the M-CORE trim kit; installed after spring 2021.

Before you buy: pull the old part and compare it side by side. Similar-looking parts often don't swap.
