Moen 1224 vs Moen 1234
Two cartridges for Moen two-handle faucets that look alike. The 1224 is the long-running one; many faucets made from 2014 on use the 1234 instead.
The quick test: Mini widespread faucet? It's a 1224. 8-inch widespread made in 2014 or later? It's a 1234 (earlier ones use the 1224). 4-inch centerset? Moen uses both there and they don't swap, so pull the old cartridge and compare before buying. You need one per handle, so hot and cold may both need replacing.
